## Glossary

### Cannabinoids (those the system recognizes and analyzes)

The laboratory may report dozens of cannabinoids; the system normalizes and classifies them. **Psychoactive**:
No · Yes · *Precursor* (a non-psychoactive acid until decarboxylated). The **counts toward THC ≤1%?** column
indicates whether it adds to the total THC regulated by law (see [Percentage rules](#percentage-rules-thc)).

**Natural — non-psychoactive**

### Percentage rules (THC)

* **Legal rule:** the product is marketable if its **total THC is ≤1% of the total** (Art. 245 fracc. V LGS).
  See [Regulatory traceability](cumplimiento/trazabilidad-regulatoria.md).
* **What "total THC" adds up:** all cannabinoids of the **THC family** (Δ9, Δ8, Δ10, THCV, THCP, THCB…)
  **plus** the THC acids converted by their decarboxylation factor (**THCA × 0.877**). The laboratory's "Total"
  rows are excluded to avoid double-counting.
* **HHC, HHC-O and HHCP are psychoactive but are NOT THC** — that is why they **do not** count toward that ≤1%. They are marketed
  covered by legal protection (amparo) under a ≤1% THC product class (see [Raw material (cannabinoids)](cumplimiento/materia-prima.md)).
* The **[Smart COA](smart-coa.md)** marks **compliant** when the batch's total THC is ≤1%; if it exceeds it, it marks
  **non-compliant** and the product cannot be published/sold.

### Spectra (extract format)

| Term | What it means |

| **Full spectrum** | Preserves the full profile of cannabinoids and terpenes (includes traces of THC ≤1%). |
| **Broad spectrum** | Cannabinoid/terpene profile with THC removed/minimized. |
| **Isolate** | A single purified cannabinoid (typically CBD ≥95%). |

**Terpenes:** natural aromatic compounds of the plant (they are not cannabinoids). They give flavor/aroma; the
[Smart COA](smart-coa.md) may report their profile (`terpenos`) in addition to the cannabinoids.

### COA safety panels

In addition to the cannabinoid profile, a [Smart COA](smart-coa.md) may include **safety** analyses of the
batch (each with a status of *pass* / *fail* / *not analyzed*):

| **Microbiological** | Absence of pathogens/molds (separate analysis). |
| **Terpenes** | Aromatic profile (informational). |

### System and traceability

| Term | What it is |

| **Smart COA** | EUM's live certificate of analysis: COA + QR + CVV + AI-readable. See [Smart COA](smart-coa.md). |
| **COA** | Laboratory certificate of analysis of a batch. Valid for **1.8 years** from the analysis date. |
| **QR** | Code on the label that leads to the public view of the product's COA. |
| **CVV** | Unique anti-counterfeiting code per unit, publicly verifiable. |
| **Batch** | A production run with an associated analysis (COA). |
| **SKU** | Identifier of a product/variant. In variable products, each variant has its own. |

### Regulatory framework (quick reference; detail in Compliance)

| **COFEPRIS** | Comisión Federal para la Protección contra Riesgos Sanitarios (Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks). |
| **LGS** | Ley General de Salud (General Health Law). |
| **SCIAN** | Sistema de Clasificación Industrial de América del Norte (North American Industry Classification System) — activity/category code in the operating notice. |
| **NOM** | Norma Oficial Mexicana (Official Mexican Standard) (e.g. food and cosmetic labeling). |
| **Warning label / octagon** | Label warning ("EXCESS…") from the front-of-pack food labeling system. |
| **Operating notice (aviso de funcionamiento)** | COFEPRIS procedure that declares the establishment and its line of business. |
| **Amparo** | A legal remedy; EUM operates ≤1% THC products under the protection of an amparo. |

## System states

### Product (seller)

`draft` → `COA under review` → `COA validated` → `under review` → `published`
· side states: `changes requested`, `paused`, `rejected`. In variable products, each variant has its own state.

### Analysis sample

`draft` → `payment pending` (awaiting payment) → `issued` (paid, to be shipped) → `shipped` (on the way to the lab)
→ `received` → `in analysis` → `results uploaded` (in final review) → `released` (COA available)
· side states: `rejected`, `cancelled`.

### Inventory transfer

`created` → `in transit` → `received` · side state: `cancelled`. The shipping label's real tracking may also
show: `delivered — pending receipt`, `out for delivery`, `shipment with incident`.

### Shipping label / inbound shipment

`no label` → `label registered` → (tracking) `in transit` → `out for delivery` → `delivered` · incidents:
`with incident`, `returned`. Without a valid registered label, the package is **not received** (warehouse or laboratory).
